IF: Stir

The topic for this week was "stir", but ever since the disasters hit Japan, it has been hard to think about anything else. The horrific events in Japan made me really think about how fragile and vulnerable our world truly is, especially when facing a natural disaster. Despite our advances in technology, with the help of which, we are able to control many aspects of our life, we are completely helpless when nature decides to revolt. My image is about the stirrings within the earth.
Let us all pray for Japan and its people and the many victims of this terrible tragedy.

Update: See Stir - Second version. It differs slightly but may work better as an image.

  2. Thank you. Personally, I do prefer the second, newer version of it. The tidal wave motif is an homage to the traditional Japanese woodcut paintings and in particular, the Japanese artist Hokusai, who has made waves like this very famous. :)
